Welcome to The Bright Stars International Primary School of Myanmar.

Primary stage, especially KG, is the foundation of child’s knowledge, skills and behaviors. Primary education is the first stage of compulsory education. The main focus of the education that BSIP gives during the kindergarten stage lies in the intellectual, physical and linguistic growth of a child. The learning of social, as well as emotional nature also helps an important part of the syllabus of BSIP.

Thus, BSIP used a multiple intelligences approach to our curriculum, which is a way of providing practical, hands on activities and creative play that address all of the ways that children are smart. These different intelligences include social Spatial, Linguistic, Natural, logical. Mathematical, Bodily Kinesthetic, Musical, Intrapersonal and Interpersonal, etc. Children learn in a number of different ways and we want to make sure that we offer them the opportunity to learn in the ways in which each of them learns best.

Qualitative assessments of student’s works are integrated into daily life of classroom, with quantitative testing playing a minimal role in primary education. In addition to the development of writing and reading skills at KG level, the syllabus also includes other subjects like Myanmar Sar, English, Math’s, Social Studies, Science, Art, Music, Computing, and Physical Education.

  English

The main purpose of teaching and learning of English for kindergarten (KG) is to introduce the students about English in their early age of learning English in order to make them familiar with English. At this level, the objectives of English skills such as speaking, listening, writing and reading are introduced by letting the students speak simple utterance and English vocabularies around their environments, write some English vocabularies around their environments, participate in role play works, listen and sing the rhymes & songs. English is enable the learners to communicate effectively and appropriately in real life situation.



  Mathematics

Mathematics is one of the most basic skills we expect our children to master. It starts with counting. Counting helps the students recognize numbers. Mathematics can also help the students be able to write numbers, recognize basic shapes, understand directions such as up, down, under, near, on the side. It gives the students the concepts of addition and substation with small numbers and it makes them to expose to two-digit numbers at preschool at preschool level. The aims of teaching and learning mathematics are to appreciate the usefulness, power and beauty of mathematics, enjoy mathematics and develop patience and persistence when solving problems.



  Myanmarsar

Myanmarsar is one of the subjects of BSIP curriculum as it is the mother tongue and the first official language of Myanmar. As the preschoolers, they have to learn how to read and write the alphabets, the vocabularies and simple sentences. By learning Myanmarsar, students can value his or her culture as well as nature of language. They can get many skills and knowledges such as

  1. They can understand the relation of articulation and symbols.
  2. They can understand the articulation.
  3. They are able to read fluently.
  4. They can enrich vocabularies.
  5. They can understand the concepts of Myanmarsar.

That is why children love to read stones, poems, and communicate with others. According to their developmental stages, they can cope the lessons as well as develop multiple intelligence. Being a mother tongue, not only school but also his/her home and environment are parts of education.



  Science

Because preschoolers are naturally curious, they are usually eager to learn science concepts and do scientific experiments. Preschoolers who participate in science activities can develop simple science skills, such as observation and classification. Providing preschoolers with a science curriculum as well as a science learning centre will further their curiosity and ability to perform scientific tasks later in life. Through the science curriculum, students gain a foundation f process skills, leading to organized reasoning, analytical thinking and problem solving abilities.



  Physical Education

Its aim is to develop physically literate individuals who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a life-time of healthful physical activities. It can give the students disciplinary concepts and provide opportunities that support students physical, cognitive, social and emotional development. It can help children and adolescents improve cardiorespiratory fitness, build strong bones and muscles, control weight, reduce depression and reduce the risk of developing health conditions. It also develops students’ physical competence and knowledge of movement and safety, and their ability to use these to perform in a wide range of activities associated with the development of an active and healthy lifestyle.



  Social Studies

It is important because it is the subject that teacher the students the history of the world and the history of a nation. It develops right from kindergarten and into high school to help students understood their place in the world. It teaches children their roles and responsibilities, particularly in relation to social and civic affairs. It also helps students develop critical thinking abilities, prepare them to participate competently and teaches them address societal and global concerns using identifiable community resources. It includes history, geography, political science, sociology, economics and civics. So it is on integral part in well-rounded education.



  Fine art

Art is a natural activity to support the free play in children. The freedom to manipulate different materials in an organic and unstructured way allows for exploration and experimentation. These artistic endeavors and self-directed explorations are not only fun, but educational as well. Art allows kids to practice a whole range of skills that are useful not only for life but also for learning. Art activities can make children to improve fine motor skills (grasping pencils, crayons, chalk and paintbrushes), cognitive development ( patterning, cause and effect), math skills (size, shape, making comparisons, counting and spatial reasoning), and language skill ( new vocabulary words).



  Computing

Computer education in schools plays an important role in students career development. Computer with the internet is the most powerful device that students can use to learn new skills and more advanced version of current lessons. So students need basic concepts of computers and internet since primary level. Computer also help the students draw the creativity on it. So it can also improve the students creativity skills.



  Music

Students will learn and explore about patterns in music giving the am opportunity to practice echoing simple song phrases. Students will earn how to keep a beat with the music. Learning to play an instrument can help the students fine-tune his/her ears and enhance skills needed for education and social interaction. It helps the students improve academic skills, develop physical skills, cultivate social skills, refine discipline and patience, boost self-esteem, and it introduces the children to other cultures.
