NURSERY CLASS

Welcome to The Bright Stars International Primary School of Myanmar.

The early years programme of BSIP is a holistic, child-centered and exploratory curriculum that focuses on developing children’s communication and language skills, creative expressions, physical abilities sand well-being, and personal and social development. In the early years, BSIP centers on learning experiences which provide emergent, play situations where children make senses of things and people around then, investigate the world from relationships and interaction.

The nursery curriculum goals are expressed through a set of broad, general overviews of what children are expectations to gain from the program which effectively address the expectations for holistic development, life skills competencies and school readiness skills.

  Approaches to learning

If children start school with a strong set of attitudes and skills that help them “learn how to learn” they will be better able to take advantages of educational how to learn” they will be better able to take advantages of educational opportunities. While some learning sills come naturally to children, others can be developed through a supportive environment. BSIP help the children to find out or build their learning skills by giving them chance to make simple choices, helping them finish what they start, nurture their creativity and provide encouragement.



  Langugage, Literacy and Communication

In BSIP, the nursery curriculum reinforce the development of expressive language, communication and vocabulary skills. Large and fine muscles development is more actively promoted alongside personal, emotional and social development. Carefully structured as well as emergent experiences occurring through daily interactions, play situations, routines and transitions continue to support children’s language and cognitive growth. The environment promotes learning through active exploration, sensory and tactile stimulations.



  Mathematics

By setting the foundation to understand terminology and concepts early, children are prepared to apply the information in a classroom setting. While nursery students might not yet be ready to learn the practice of the math skills, they can gain a basic idea of the practice through language an d practice. BSIP helps the children to get the number sense, of the basics of learning about numbers which is the first vital math skill a child must develop. Children from BSIP are helped to be naturally visual and can build relation ship between numbers and a represented item by using representation or pictures to clarify a relationship so that it could make the use of mathematics real to child’s mid.



  Myanmarsar

With the aim of nurturing the children to love their mother country and literature, Myanmarsar is taught to the children. They are helped to acquire awareness of sounds, letters and alphabet of Myanmarsar. To develop synchronized and coordinated movements, the children are now taught to write the alphabet first. Instead, air strokes are practiced as a prewriting activity. Later, they are learnt t color and trace the Myanmar alphabet t before freehand writing is introduced.  



  Social and Emotional Development

Every child is an individual who has the right to expect commitment, love and respect. Each child regardless of social status, race religion, or national origin, should be given the opportunity to thrive in a supportive and responsive multicultural environment that will foster his or her holistic development. In BSIP, multicultural environment that will foster his or her holistic development . In BSIP, expectations for personal and social development continue to be prioritized resulting in even greater autonomy and independence, enhanced self-help skills, self-concept and confidence of individual children.



  Physical Education and Health

Physical Development for children refers to the advancements and refinements of motor sills, or , in other words, children’s abilities to use and control their bodies. This aims to develop their “ gross motor skill “ and “fine motor skill” and they are essential to children’s overall health and wellness. Children’s motor abelites in preschool develop as a result of physical development. As their bodies mature, children progressively strengthen their muscles and are able to better control their bodies. Skill mastery and development, however, are also the result of brain growth and development. BSIP provide opportunities for children to be active and interactive and to develop their coordination control and movement. We help them to understand t he importance of physical activity and to make them healthy.



  Science and Technology

The objective of learning science is to help them explore experiences while encouraging their creative thinking and enhancing their psychomotor skills. Technology is introduced to the preschool children from the beginning and each child is provided the chance to work with a computer. Naturally children are more interested in drawing and exploring new things with computer, so the computer learning programme is centered around fun and challenging educational games.



  Social Studies

Social studies resources include enrichment activities that focus on people in the community, map reading and learning how to communicate wants and needs. These are all skills that are crucial to kindergarten readiness and can provide the preschool social studies help children need to thrive in school. BSIP let the children learn important figures in history and cultural awareness of holidays and traditions so that they know to value their own traditions and culture and respect the others.



 Creative Art

Fostering creativity help children develop mentally, socially and emotionally. Creating art boost young children’s ability to analyze and problem-solve in myriad ways. BSIP help children to improve their motor skills by manipulate a paintbrush, learn the basics of math by counting pieces and colors and most importantly, we help them to boost their self-confident by letting them to feel free to invent new ways of thinking and fell good while they are creating.
